Code Enforcement

The main objective of Oak Ridge North's Code Enforcement Division is to uphold City Codes and State Laws, aiming to enhance Oak Ridge North as an excellent place for both residents and businesses. The primary aim of Code Officers is to safeguard the well-being and security of our residents. This is achieved through public education and close collaboration with local authorities, business proprietors, and other City departments, with the aim of ensuring that both residential and commercial properties conform to the established codes.

 

Code Enforcement is responsible for addressing a range of code violations, including those related to nuisances, zoning, and parking.

The following is a list of common code violations:

  • Weeds and Grass

  • Illegal Dumping on private or public property

  • Property Maintenance – building, driveway, and accessory structure maintenance including fences

  • Health & Safety – accumulation of trash, stagnant water, brush, debris, tires

  • Sanitation Issues

  • Illegal Home Occupations

  • Zoning Violations

  • Commercial Signage

  • Addressing Requirements

  • Hazardous Materials
