Responsibilities:
The Utility Services Department oversees water and sewer services for Oak Ridge North. Duties of the Department include:
- Residential and commercial water deposits
- New water, sewer, and solid waste connections
- Consumer disconnects
Requests for new service maybe made in person, by fax or by email. Services will be connected when a Utility Service Application for residential and commercial utilities is completed and the service deposit is paid. This agreement is required by the TCEQ and every customer must sign this agreement before the City can establish service. A copy of your driver's license is required. There is a deposit of $150.00 for water and trash service or $50.00 for trash service only. If service to an existing connection has been terminated or suspended, the City will not re-establish service unless it has a signed copy of this agreement. Services cannot be provided until all information and deposits are received.

Regardless of your choice of electric power provider, questions about the maintenance of electric lines to your home should be addressed to CenterPoint Energy at 713-207-2222.

Residents in the 77385 zip code must call Entergy for electric service and/or maintenance. They can be reached at 1-800-368-3749. Application for new service must be done over the telephone.

Natural Gas
CenterPoint Energy Entex provides natural gas to the entire City. To initiate service, please call 713-659-2111. An application for service by telephone is required with a deposit usually ranging from $35 to $150. You will be billed the deposit on the first gas bill. A letter of good credit can be accepted in some cases and the deposit is returned with interest after a year of on-time payments to the company. Also a $15.00 connection fee will appear on your first bill.

AT&T is the dominant provider for telephone service. To initiate service with them, please call 800-288-2020. The City of Oak Ridge North’s residents have a choice of either local access and/or expanded Houston Metropolitan access.
