The City Secretary acts as the Records Management Officer and Chief Custodian of all official City records. These duties include: maintaining all records of the governing body; generating and maintaining agendas, minutes, ordinances, resolutions and proclamations; attending all meetings of the governing body and other City-related meetings; composing and publishing invitations to bid, public notices, and legal notices; and maintaining contracts, leases and agreements.
The City Secretary also administers elections, maintains the City's entry sign, and provides information to the public.

Some Council meetings may be held remotely via Zoom Teleconferencing. Governor Greg Abbott has granted a temporary suspension of the Open Meetings Act to allow public meetings to take place via telephone or videoconference. These actions are being taken to mitigate the spread of COVID-19 by avoiding in-person meetings that bring people into a group setting and in accordance with Section 418.016 of the Texas Government Code. Telephonic and videoconferencing capabilities will be utilized to allow individuals to address the Council. Emails may also be submitted. Citizens are entitled to participate remotely via Zoom Teleconferencing using the instructions on the agendas.

Members of the public who wish to submit their written comments on a listed agenda item must submit their comments by emailing the City Secretary at eharrell@oakridgenorth.com or by calling 281-292-4648 for staff assistance.
