Summary Report from City Council meeting of 07/24/2017
- City Council discussed the possibility of transferring ownership of 127 Spring Pines from the City to the Economic Development Corporation Board (EDC) to consolidate properties for a future water detention facility. The EDC will consider the transfer at its next scheduled meeting. City Manager Vicky Rudy reported that City staff is preparing for a grant application to the General Land Office through the Community Development Block Grant program for this project.
- City Council authorized purchase of a replacement police vehicle. The vehicle was totaled in a traffic stop related accident in July. Insurance will be reimbursing the cost of the vehicle.
- City Council authorize staff to go out for bid on a drainage project slated for Hillside Drive.
- A Council personnel subcommittee will be evaluating a Worker’s Compensation Wage Supplement Policy to address future injuries on the job. Council authorized supplementing Worker’s Compensation payments to a City police officer injured in a traffic stop accident in July.
