Members
The six members of the Council serve the City part-time. Their terms are for two years, with annual elections held on the second Saturday in May, as provided by Chapter 41 of the Election Code.
About the Council
The City Council governs many City functions including levying taxes, adopting ordinances and resolutions, considering assessments, and exercising budgetary and police control. Council members represent the City by responding to inquiries, suggestions, and complaints.
